How do I manage scheduled remote starts for my Ford vehicle using the Ford app?
When using the Ford app, you have direct access to schedule starts for your vehicle. Use the instructions below for access.
Schedule Remote Start Requirements
Ensure your vehicle meets all requirements to use scheduled starts, which are:
- Your vehicle must be equipped with a modem.
- Your vehicle must be added to the Ford app.
- Your vehicle must be activated.
- Enable your Vehicle Connectivity Setting and ensure Remote Start is set to on.
Scheduled Remote Start Limitations
For best performance, there are limits in place, and you cannot do the following:
- Create duplicate scheduled remote starts.
- Create more than 10 scheduled remote starts.
- Save a scheduled remote start if there is an empty field (e.g., time not set).
- Create, enable, or disable a scheduled remote start within five minutes of your scheduled start time.
The Ford App Scheduled Start Options

Create a Scheduled Start
To create a scheduled remote start in the Ford app:
- Log in to the Ford app.
- Go to the Vehicle dashboard.
- Scroll down and select Scheduled Remote Starts.
- If you are adding your first scheduled remote start, select Create Scheduled Remote Start.
- If you are adding additional scheduled remote starts, select the Add in the upper right-hand corner.
- Enter the following as needed:
- Start Time
- Repetition Schedule (which days the vehicle will be automatically started for you)
- Vehicle's Time Zone (this is auto-selected based on your timezone)
- Tap Save in the upper right-hand corner.
Edit or Delete a Scheduled Start
To create a scheduled remote start in the Ford app:
- Log in to the Ford app.
- Go to the Vehicle dashboard.
- Scroll down and select Scheduled Remote Starts.
- Select the schedule you want to edit or remove.
- To edit a scheduled start, tap on any of the following options and adjust accordingly:
- Start Time
- Repetition Schedule (which days the vehicle will be automatically started for you)
- Vehicle's Time Zone (this is auto-selected based on your timezone)
- To remove the scheduled remote start, tap Delete at the bottom of the screen.
- To edit a scheduled start, tap on any of the following options and adjust accordingly:
- Tap Save.
Deactivate a Scheduled Remote Start
To create a scheduled remote start in the Ford app:
- Log in to the Ford app.
- Go to the Vehicle dashboard.
- Scroll down and select Scheduled Remote Starts.
- Locate the scheduled start you want to disable.
- Toggle the Checkmark slider to the left.
Your selected scheduled start will no longer be active.
