What are my Ford Customer Connectivity Settings?
Customer Connectivity Settings allow your vehicle’s modem to communicate via the cloud with the Ford app*. If any connectivity options are disabled, the Ford app is not able to use the feature and displays an error message advising, "Please enable in-vehicle connectivity Settings to access the feature."
SYNC** Version Connectivity Settings
Select a dropdown below based on your vehicle's SYNC version for information about Customer Connectivity Settings.
SYNC 3
For SYNC 3 there is a unique behaviour. From the factory, your vehicle is initially configured to have two options in the Connectivity settings, which are:
- Vehicle Connectivity
- Send Vehicle Data
After activating your modem, the following options should appear:
- Location
- Veh. data & remote ctrl
SYNC 4 and SYNC 4A
When Vehicle Connectivity is enabled, everything under Privacy Settings is turned On (i.e., toggled to the right).

- Share Vehicle Location
- Share Vehicle Driving Data
- Share Vehicle Analytics
- Speech Recognition Feedback
Note: When Share Vehicle Data is disabled, Share Vehicle Location, Share Vehicle Analytics, and Speech Recognition Feeback are also disabled SYNC 4A.

How do I change my Ford SYNC connectivity settings?
*Ford app enables Connected Services and is available on selected vehicles. Ford app will be enabled at time of vehicle delivery. The Ford app and the Ford app modem can only work when both are connected to the telecommunications network. Ford cannot guarantee the Ford app will always be fully operational, and the app may be unavailable, or services interrupted. Ford is not responsible for any limitations of the telecommunications network or your mobile device.
