What is the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor?

The Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor (IOLM) system analyzes vehicle data to determine a recommended time to change engine oil.

Traditionally, vehicles follow a pre-set schedule for an oil change, but due to differences in operating conditions, driving habits, and actual mileage, the oil change interval may vary. This often leads to wrongly timed vehicle maintenance, which results in degraded vehicle performance and additional costs for owners.

The Oil Life button in the Ford app displays a percentage estimate of oil life remaining as well as options to contact your Ford Dealer and/or request a service.

Note: This is not a standard feature for all vehicles and the following pre-conditions must be met:

• You must have a vehicle added to the Ford app.
• You must have a next-generation vehicle.
• Your vehicle must support the IOLM feature within the instrument cluster.
