Factory Reset for Remote Commands

If your authorization or vehicle activation needs to be removed from an account, a factory Reset may need to be performed. This reset restores SYNC® and the FordPass Connect modem to the factory default settings. All changes made including - all stored data, call history, text message information, paired Bluetooth devices, contact lists, and saved points (if the vehicle is equipped with navigation) - will be cleared.

To perform a Factory Reset: 

  1. Make sure your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
  2. Press Settings on the bottom feature bar on the SYNC® 3 touchscreen.
  3. Tap General.
  4. Scroll down to Factory Reset.
  5. Press Factory Reset.
  6. Press Continue on the pop-up message.
  7. Once your reset is complete, access the Vehicle Landing screen to activate your vehicle.
