Can I upgrade to the newest SYNC system?
Each SYNC Version has unique hardware and software system.
Previous versions of SYNC unfortunately cannot be updated to a newer SYNC version.
A key feature of the SYNC 3 system is the inclusion of an 8-inch capacitive touch screen which was redesigned to deliver a better experience with your vehicle's infotainment system. Also included is the ability to mirror your phone using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is unfortunately not compatible with older hardware.
Note: While you cannot upgrade to a newer SYNC version, you can still check if your SYNC is operating on the latest version. To check for software updates please visit SYNC Updates.
