Driving Skills for Life

DSFL Overview

The Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) programme was established in 2003 by Ford Motor Company Fund – the philanthropic branch of Ford Motor Company – to equip newly-licensed drivers with the skills needed for safer driving, beyond what is taught during basic driving lessons.

While many advanced driving courses focus on performance dynamics at race tracks, the team of certified DSFL instructors focus on everyday driving scenarios. The programme consists of group theoretical training, and individual practical training in a Ford vehicle provided. It covers defensive driving techniques, expert recommendations on how to conduct yourself in the event of a hijacking, and tips for better fuel efficiency and environmentally conscious driving.
