PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 12 May 2026 - Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (“Ford South Africa”) is proud to confirm that the Everest range will expand in Q4 2026 with the addition of the rugged Everest Tremor.
As a specialised new entry in the popular SUV line-up, the Tremor is designed for adventurers who demand elite off-road performance without sacrificing on-road sophistication or towing versatility.
“We are delighted to bring the popular Tremor variant into our Everest line-up later this year. The addition of the Everest Tremor to this already popular range of SUVs answers customer demand for a more off-road capable model, due in part to the success of the equivalent Ranger Tremor,” says Sunil Sewmohan, Director of Product Marketing, Ford South Africa. “The Everest Tremor builds on the exceptional comfort, space, refinement and high-tech features offered in the Everest, while enabling adventurous owners to go further and conquer more challenging off-road terrain with confidence,” Sewmohan says.
Built for the road less travelled, the Everest Tremor boasts an impressive suite of off-road features that ensure it is ready to tackle every adventure. It benefits from the fitment of a specially developed off-road suspension, incorporating Bilstein® Position-Sensitive Dampers and new springs designed for challenging conditions. This is combined with General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres that provide sure-footed grip in a wide variety of conditions, from gravel roads to rocks, sand and mud, while retaining strong on-road performance. The off-road suspension and tyres also unlock an additional 26mm of ground clearance compared to the standard Everest, further enhancing the vehicle’s go-anywhere ability.
Furthermore, the Everest Tremor is the only model in the Everest range equipped with the Rock Crawl Drive Mode. This mode optimises traction and momentum on loose and rocky surfaces, ensuring confident off-road exploration.
Ford’s powerful 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine is standard on the Everest Tremor, delivering 184kW of power and 600Nm of torque. This ensures that the Tremor is capable of effortlessly tackling challenging landscapes, and hauling heavy loads with ease with its 3,500kg maximum braked towing capacity.
The Everest Tremor’s outstanding off-road driving capability is reinforced by a selection of design and functional upgrades that create a bold presence and set the Tremor apart. This includes a distinctive honeycomb grille design with auxiliary LED lamps, a steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and signature Tremor badging. It will also be available in the unique Command Grey exterior colour that is exclusive to the Tremor series.
Despite the rugged appeal of the Everest Tremor, there’s no compromise on the Everest’s revered premium levels of quality, comfort and refinement thanks to Tremor-embossed leather accented seats, ebony-coloured interior accents, and durable all-weather floor mats to provide a comfortable, stylish and practical cabin.
Drivers can also enjoy a suite of advanced features, including the SYNC® 4 infotainment system, and Ford’s comprehensive suite of safety technologies.
Further information and pricing of the Everest Tremor will be announced closer to the Q4 2026 launch in South Africa.
