What services are available for Roadside Assistance when using the FordPass App?

  1. AA Mayday Emergency Medical Rescue Service
  2. Medical rescue service for unforeseen emergencies that occur in the car, at home, at work, or on holiday.
  3. AA makes the arrangement and pay for emergency medical transportation. It includes:
    1. Emergency evacuation and transfer to the most suitable medical facility, with a refundable deposit of R5000.
    2. Relocation after treatment.
    3. Liaison with next of kin to keep them informed.
    4. Travelling companions for stranded minors.
    5. Transfer of emergency medicine and blood.
    6. Telephonic medical and travel advice.
    7. Rape crisis helpline.
    8. Repatriation of mortal remains or local burial.
  4. This service is subject to the conditions set by the external service provider, Netcare 911,and comprehensive terms and conditions are available at www.aa.co.za.
  5. Only available in South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho.

  7. Fuel to reach a filling station
    1. The Member is provided 10 litres to reach the nearest filling station.
  8. AA Battery Service including Mobile Battery Sales
    1. This mobile battery replacement service is available in ALL road patrol areas.
    2. Battery vans carry new AA batteries at competitive prices.
  9. Vehicle Locksmith
    1. Ford won’t pay for repairs, or the replacement of a lock or ignition switch, or the cutting of keys, but they reimburse the Member’s cost of calling out a locksmith up to R438.90 (including VAT).
  10. Road Patrol Roadside Repair
    1. ONLY available in the major metropolitan areas of South Africa
    2. They do not carry spare parts in their vehicles, so where repairs aren’t possible, tow to the nearest Ford Dealership is being arrange.
  11. Recovery Towing Service Electrical and Mechanical Breakdowns.
    1. ONLY free if the vehicle to be towed is near to the Ford Dealership. Otherwise, additional cost is accounted to the Member.
    2. Ford can arrange for an AA tow truck or recovery service provider to tow your car to the nearest Ford Dealership if a member is in an area where AA patrol vans do not operate.
  12. 24-Hour Car Hire
    1. A Group B vehicle (subject to availability) is being hired so the Member may complete the journey or return home.
    2. Cover excludes fuel and toll fees.
    3. Subject to terms and conditions set by the car hire company i.e. the customer must be in possession of a valid credit card and driver’s license.
  13. The following are the PAY-ON-USE SERVICES offered by Roadside Assistance:
    1. Accident Towing
    2. Accident Access Service is where AA Call Centre make the arrangement for the vehicle to be taken to the closest Ford Approved Body Repairer.
    3. ONLY available within the borders of South Africa.
  14. Return to Repaired Car
    1. Should the driver continue his journey while the vehicle is being repaired, the AA pays the reasonable costs (equivalent to hiring a Group B vehicle at AA rates for 24 hours) of the returning the driver (or a nominated person) to collect the vehicle once repairs are completed.
    2. The Member is not entitled to the service if:
      1. The vehicle is not in a roadworthy condition.
      2. The vehicle is a motor home or large panel van.
      3. The vehicle has a gross mass exceeding 3.5 tons.
      4. The fault is with a trailer or caravan.
      5. The vehicle is already at a place of repair.
  15. Overnight Accommodation
    1. All costs are from the customer’s own account

*Use of FordPass is subject to the FordPass Terms and Privacy Policy available in link above and requires a compatible mobile device, internet access and software (including software updates from time to time). You are responsible for internet access, mobile network data and voice call services required for your use of the FordPass App on your mobile device, including associated fees.  The FordPass App and the FordPass Connect modem can only work when both are connected to the telecommunications network. Ford cannot guarantee FordPass will be fully operational at all times and the App may be unavailable or particular services interrupted. Ford is not responsible for any limitations of the telecommunications network or your mobile device.
