25S89 - Safety Recall Ford Mustang: Rear-View Camera Software Update
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (FMCSA) has commenced a Safety Recall relating to certain 2015-2019 Model Year Ford Mustang Vehicles.
FMCSA has identified that in some of the affected vehicles, customers may experience a blank or distorted image on the centre display screen when the vehicle is in reverse. A blank or distorted rear view camera image increases the risk of an accident. If the image is lost for 10 seconds, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set, and the customer will receive a message that the rear-view camera is unavailable on the centre display screen.
There are 2 665 vehicles affected in Southern Africa (South Africa - 2 627; Botswana - 7; Namibia - 28 and Swaziland - 3).
FMCSA is working to provide a software update in order to repair the concern. When the update becomes available, FMCSA or a Ford authorised dealer will notify the customer to schedule a service appointment for the software update. The software update related to this programme will be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the customer.
Our commitment, together with our dealer partners, is to provide customers with the highest level of service and support.
