25S39 - Safety Recall Ford Ranger and Ford Everest: Camshaft Sprocket Failure
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (FMCSA) has commenced a Safety Recall that relates to certain Ford Ranger and Ford Everest models with 3.0L V6 engines, built between June 2022 and March 2025.
FMCSA has identified that in some of the affected vehicles, there is a possibility that the left-side camshaft sprocket may fracture causing the engine to stall. An engine stall without warning increases the risk of an accident.
There are 1 050 vehicles affected in Southern Africa (South Africa – 995; Botswana – 17; Namibia – 34; Swaziland - 4) made up as follows:
- Ford Ranger – 571 affected in Southern Africa (South Africa – 534; Botswana – 10; Namibia – 24; Swaziland - 3).
- Ford Everest – 479 affected in Southern Africa (South Africa – 461; Botswana – 7; Namibia – 10; Swaziland - 1).
FMCSA is contacting affected customers and advising them to contact their preferred dealer to schedule an appointment. The dealer will inspect the vehicle and carry out the necessary repairs. This service will be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the customer.
