The visual infotainment system in the Ford Territory allows you to easily connect and control smartphone apps on the central touchscreen via wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM. The system also supports wired connections via type C and type A USB ports.
How to connect smartphones in the Ford Territory.
1. Turn on & access the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
2. Click the Settings icon on the left side of the touchscreen, then select the Device Management category. Make sure the 'Bluetooth' option on the vehicle display is activated.
3. In the Device List section, click the 'Add New' button to find and connect to the phone (using iOS and Android operating systems). A user guide will appear to help you easily complete the connection.
4. Select the vehicle name: Ford Territory in the Bluetooth settings of your phone.
5. On the central screen of the Territory, a window will appear, asking you to confirm the PIN.
6. Match the PIN with the numbers sent to your phone. Select 'Pair' to begin the connection process.
7. A window will appear on the phone screen asking for confirmation to allow synchronization of Contacts and Favorites. Select 'Allow' to use some hands-free calling features.
8.A request to confirm the connection activation via Apple CarPlay® /Android AutoTM will appear on the screen. Select 'Yes' to activate Apple CarPlay® /Android AutoTM.
Now, you have successfully connected your mobile phone to the Ford Territory. It's simple, right?
Once connected successfully, you will see the Apple CarPlay® /Android AutoTM interface appear on the central touchscreen. This interface shows the mobile applications on your phone that can be accessed and used through the car screen, such as Maps, Messages, Calls, Music, and Calendar, and the FORD icon will bring you back to the vehicle entertainment screen.
With Apple CarPlay® /Android AutoTM, you can easily select Media sources from your mobile device, make hands-free calls, or take advantage of the navigation features of the mobile map application.
