25S19 - Safety Recall Ford Ranger: Transmission Main Control Valve Body Replacement

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (FMCSA) has commenced a Safety Recall relating to certain 2025 Ford Ranger vehicles.

FMCSA has identified that in the affected vehicles, the transmission main valve body’s internal dimensions do not meet the engineering print specifications, and the driver may experience no reverse motion when the vehicle is in reverse gear. When the vehicle’s gear selector is in reverse or neutral position, the vehicle may move forward. When this occurs, the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and Wrench light will illuminate on the instrument cluster in the vehicle. Unexpected vehicle motion can increase the risk of an accident.

There are eight (8) vehicles affected in South Africa.

FMCSA or a Ford authorised dealer is contacting customers and advising them to call their dealer without delay to schedule a service appointment, providing their VIN when doing so. The dealer will inspect the vehicle and carry out the necessary repairs. The repairs related to this programme will be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the customer.

Our commitment, together with our dealer partners, is to provide customers with the highest level of service and support.
