25SF3 - Safety Recall Ford Puma: Restraint Control Module (RCM) Software Update
Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd (FMCSA) has commenced a Safety Recall relating to certain 2023-2024 Model Year Puma Vehicles requiring a software update to the Restraint Control Module (RCM).
According to FMCSA’s records on certain 2023-2024 Model Year Ford Puma vehicles, the remedy software (Restraint Control Module) for Safety Recall 23S52 may not have been installed correctly during a prior Dealership visit. Because the correct software update may not have been installed on these vehicles, the underlying condition specified in Safety Recall 23S52 may still exist. In the event of an accident the restraints system performance could potentially be degraded therefore increasing the risk of injury.
There are 26 vehicles affected in South Africa.
FMCSA or a Ford authorised dealer is contacting customers and advising them to schedule a service appointment for the software update. The dealer will inspect the vehicle and carry out the necessary repairs. The software update related to this programme will be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the customer.
Our commitment, together with our dealer partners, is to provide customers with the highest level of service and support.
